Movement Building and Leadership
So day one proper of World Council began. And began in true Y fashion with everyone in the room reflecting on what it’s like to be in other women’s shoes. Not literally (that would be a bit weird) but metaphorically!
Leadership is all about change and yet it’s critical to understand what you are leading for. Knowing what your leadership is about. Everyone can be a leader but it’s not possible to do it by yourself – we need to share leadership and pass on our wisdom and advice to younger women to ensure that we’re not only leading by example but encouraging intergenerational leadership.
To sum up our day, we’ve included some quotes below which we found inspirational:-
- Be great in the little things
- A real leader faces the music even when she doesn’t like the tune
- It’s about disagreeing not disrespecting
