What We Do
Communities
Our programs helping communities impacted more than 8,095 people in 2008/09.
Working collaboratively in communities, YWCA NSW ensures that services are co-ordinated and effectively targeted. We provide opportunities for people to take charge of their own physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. This is the key to creating a healthy and cohesive community.
This involves providing a safe and welcoming environment where people can come together to discuss concerns for their community, develop a shared understanding of what can and needs to be collectively achieved and participate in and develop the necessary partnerships to address and resolve concerns.
These include:
- Assisting people in rural, drought affected communities
- Building healthy lifestyle knowledge, practices and capacity within Aboriginal communities.
- Communities for Children
- Aboriginal Health & Wellbeing
- Rural Health & Wellbeing
