Exciting Opportunities for YWCA Members!

Join the YWCA Australia Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) delegation in 2012 – including partial funding to support a young woman

 

YWCA Australia is looking for YWCA members to join its CSW delegation in New York in 2012.

 

Next year the CSW will focus on issues affecting women in rural areas. Through the Una Porter fund YWCA Australia is able to partially support the costs of a young woman (30 and under), preferably from a rural, regional or remote area, to join the team in New York.

 

YWCA Australia will meet the accommodation and travel insurance costs of the successful applicant and is preparing a delegation of between four and five members and members are now invited to send an expression of interest (EOI).

 

Young women should have the support of their Member Association in submitting their EOI. The deadline for submitting EOIs is the close of business on Friday 7 October. Join the YWCA of the Solomon Islands on a 22 month placement as Program Advisor

 

The Australian Volunteers for International Development (AVID) program is now seeking applications for a Program Advisor at YWCA Solomon Islands. The placement is for 22 months (Jan 2012 - Dec 2014) and will be based in Munda, Western Province.

Call for members to join the YWCA Australia Constitution Committee

 

YWCA Australia will be engaging the movement in a limited review of the YWCA Australia Constitution. With seven years working experience with the ‘new’ Constitution we have identified some areas that would benefit from a ‘tidy up’. YWCA Australia seeks a young woman (30 and under) with an interest and/or experience in legal and constitutional matters to join four other YWCA members on the Constitution Committee. The Committee will primarily meet by teleconference. The project will be operational from October 2010 to November 2011 with the bulk of work in the October to May period. Interested members are asked to prepare an EOI stating their relevant experience/interest in the work of the Committee, of no more than one page in length. Please also include your association, date of birth, and best contact details. The deadline for submitting EOIs is the close of business on Friday 7 October and should be sent to natoffice@ywca.org.au

 

Call for members to join the YWCA Australia Pacific Committee

 

 

The YWCA Australia Pacific Committee is a sub-committee of the YWCA Australia Board. The Pacific Committee works to strengthen the relationship between YWCAs in Australia and the Pacific and has a particular interest in the implementation of the Pacific Young Women’s Leadership Strategy. Interested members are asked to prepare an EOI stating their relevant experience/interest in the work of the Committee, of no more than one page in length. Please also include your association, date of birth, and best contact details. The deadline for submitting EOIs is the close of business on Friday 7 October and should be sent to natoffice@ywca.org.au

 

Call for members to join the YWCA Australia Timor Leste Committee

 

The YWCA Australia Timor Leste Committee (TLC) is a sub-committee of the YWCA Australia Board. The TLC is entering a new phase with the establishment of a YWCA Timor Leste Committee in Dili. The YWCA Australia TLC will be working to support the emerging YWCA in Timor. The TLC meets primarily by teleconference on a four-six week cycle.
