As we write, there’s a hustle and bustle of activity as the final preparations are underway for the glamorous 2011 Mother of All Balls Shanghai Chic, presented by Eagles Rest Wines and hosted by Rachel Ward AO, Patron of YWCA NSW and the Mother of All Balls Committee.
We’re getting ready to indulge in an Oriental feast by Luke Mangan and enjoy an opulent and colourful evening with fine wines from Eagles Rest Wines.
As everything begins to take shape, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our supporting sponsors Workshop Events, Clark Murphy Print, Luke Mangan, Peroni, Vodka O and Nicholas Feuillatte.

The funds raised on the evening, Saturday 12th November, will support programs for disadvantaged young people and their families including our Big Brothers Big Sisters™ mentoring programs.
Tickets have been flying out of the door but if you hurry, there are still a few spaces left so head to www.stickytickets.com.au/6060 to secure your spot and get ready to be seduced by the Paris of the East!
If you are unable to attend but would still like to make a donation, you can do so by clicking here.
We’re also busy getting ready for our Annual General Meeting, which will be held this year at Y Hotel, Hyde Park on Thursday 27th October when we will release our 2010/11 Annual Report.
This year’s theme will be ‘A Year in the Life’, where we celebrate the breadth and depth of our programs and our incredible team, showcasing how we are there to lend a supporting hand during critical times in many people’s lives.
And as this issue goes to print, we are preparing to farewell our dedicated President Liz Dibbs. Liz has been on the Board of YWCA NSW for 11 years and our President for four but sadly our Constitution dictates that she must step down from her duties as President in October.
I’m certain her commitment to our mission means she will continue to contribute to the Board and to YWCA NSW in the coming years as a YWCA NSW representative on the YWCA Australia Board and a member of our Mother of All Balls Committee.
Huge thanks to Liz for her wonderful and unwavering contribution for more than a decade.
Best regards,

Kate Frost
