Serious Fun - Junior Lifeguard and School Holiday Program

This project provides young people aged 13 - 18 years of age with an in-term weekly program at the Bay & Basin Leisure Centre focusing on developing a range of skills, knowledge and confidence through participation in a Junior Lifeguard Club (JLC) program. As part of their learning each term the JLC young people will work with Project staff to plan, develop and deliver school holiday programs for local young people at the Leisure Centre.

The aim of this program is to encourage young people to use the local leisure centre and participate in acquatic activities year round, increasing skills and confidence to ensure safety and survival around water. The project will also promote healthy eating through the provision of healthy meals and education.
