About our Fundraising

Each year YWCA NSW creates a number of fundraising events to raise funds for some important programs within our portfolio.

These events are key to maintaining several programs across the state.

Annual Fundraising Evening

Since 2004 our annual fundraising event, Mother of All Balls, and more recently the Mother of All Nights has raised millions of dollars for our programs and services helping peole in difficult times.

Our Patron for 10 years, Rachel Ward AO, was the inspiration behind the Mother of All Balls and since then the annual event has grown and evolved into YWCA NSW’s primary fundraiser. We are excited to annouce that in 2018 we are continuing the tradition but with a new name, and the YWCA Gala Dinner will be held on 11th May at Jones Bay Wharf in Sydney.

No-one throws a party like the YWCA NSW and consequently, over the years, this event has developed a reputation for attracting the cream of Sydney’s social scene and heavyweight corporate support, all keen to help support disadvantaged families and their children.

Breaking The Cycle

Our 2017 Breaking the Cycle 30 Minute Cycling Fundraising Challenge achieved an outstanding result with more than 300 people riding at Scenic Cycle in Sydney cycling to raise funds towards women and children escaping domestic violence. We were thrilled to have raised $65,000!

This year we will be uping our goal and would love you to be a part of the action - you can ride as an individual or part of a corporate team.

Twilight Seminar Sessions

In 2015, our new Y Connect Advisory Committee was formed. The Y Connect committee assisted with the creation and implementation of Breaking The Cycle, and were also the catalyst for a brand new fundraiser Twilight Seminar Sessions. Throughout the year our corporate partners and contacts will be invited to a variety of panel discussions and presentations and networking events, raising funds for our programs. Our first event was in November 2015, and was a great success, followed by an event for International Women's Day held at LinkedIn in March 2016, and now host them monthly.
